92 300D INJECTOR QUESTION

I have a 92 300D and a couple of the injectors are developing some sort of black goo around them. is that just diesel fuel solidifying around the injector. Also I can feel shots of air coming out between the injector and where is screws into the cylinder head. Is it just a seal at the bottom of the injectorsthat has gone bad. Or is it something else.
the car runs pretty well. I'm over all happy with it. Any ideas on what this could be? All help is as usual greatly appreciated.

Some thoughts:

You could start with re-torqueing the Injectors.

Or you could order the Heat Shields on line with some other parts you might need and replace them and see if that cures it.

While the Injectors are out you could barrow or rent Prechamber Ring Tool and re-torque the Prechamber Retaining Rings.

If none of the above helps the Engines with Aluminum Heads have been know to develop sealing problems between the Head and the Prechamber. There is an expensive special cutter to go down inside and cut a new seating area. It also requires some before and after measurements so you can return the Prechamber Protrusion back to what it was supposed to be. (This will also require removal of the Glow Plutg and of course the Prechambers.)

Do You know if your Prechamber Rings have the 2 grooves in them or are the Splined ones?
