some progress on the '87 300td

I have finally got around to working on the car some and am pleased with my progress if not the pace. The front end is back together with new ball joints and the new rear wheel bearing & bushing will be pressed in next week. Then I can take her down off the blocks and roll her outside as she is taking up valuable real-estate for paying work.
It still idles very rough, blows huge amounts of white/grey smoke and there is a problem somewhere with #2 cylinder. Fresh DV seals cleared up the IP leaks, but replacing the incorrect DV spring @ #2 with a MBZ one wasn't the miracle cure I was hoping for. At this point, I am leaning toward sending it off to my indy to fix the motor, as I am clearly out of my depth here, even after reading countless search threads in attempt to shed some light on the issue.

With a little regret, I just put it back the way I found it. There are larger issues to deal with at the moment and I've had your spring compressor for way too long as it is
