300td w123 wagon is really s123?

Can anyone confirm this? I just saw a sight that called wagons s123? Have I been incorrect and naive for years?

it's one of the ways some differentiate between the models.

technically, the wagon is a W123.193 if I remember correctly...

Never seen that and I have been on Mercedes Internet lists/groups since 1995.

People have all sorts of ways of describing their cars.

For example, in the Volvo world, someone started a craze of adding BMW-esque suffixes to the model names. So 240 turbo owners started saying they owned 242tii etc.

Or perhaps there is a german word beginning with an S, associated with wagons? The usual term over there is Kombi.

Maybe it is a reference to Station Wagon.

Yeah MB T-Model is "S" Mercedes-Benz Baureihe 123

W is always "sedan" type (wagen), coupe as C, roadster R, convertible w/backseat A, long version V, etc

I dunno why some go overboard with "W", consider forums for example type 208 CLK, always "W208" but for sure no such car exists
