Mobil 1 15w50 - not diesel rated anymore?
Mobil 1 15w50 - not diesel rated anymore?
It is NOT my intention to start another “oil thread” debate. I’m just curious to know what if anything has changed in regards to Mobil 1’s formulation and if it is still suitable for (older) diesels. I ran out of my old supply with the gold caps. The newer “silver top” 15/50 jugs don’t show the CF rating anymore. They only list gasoline engine service ratings. (I recognize that CF is an older and possibly outdated rating.) However, on Mobil’s website they show a CF rating and mention diesel use. Links: Mobil 1™ 15W-50 15W-50 Synthetic Oil | Mobil 1™ 15W-50
