advise on pricing my 85 300d

how much do you all think i should list my car at?
60K miles
no rust , not even jack points
bilstein HD shocks
everything except cruise works
never used spare tire lol
orig windshield
no dents
complete rebuilt trans 500+ miles ago
sport wheels and tires, lots of tread
extra set of wheels and tires, bundts
always garaged never driven in winter
paint dulling due to PO going to auto car washes, a lot.
i love this car but i love my kids more need to pay bills. i never seem to get any time to drive it. 10k miles in 6 years. 2 years wasted saving up for the new trans.
thanks

Beautiful car. I have one question. why would a transmission need to be rebuilt at 60K miles? these are long lived transmissions.

Other than that, sounds like a creme puff of a car. need more pictures.

Very nice car, its prolly worth around 15-20K to the right person(fix the cruise and any other non-working part). Best of the best, 1985 300D with hardly any miles.

Still dont know why the tranny needed to be rebuilt, my 85 300D has 266K on it and it works like new, knock on wood. Maybe lack of use??

With the information/pictures provided? I would ask $5,000.00 for the car. The wheels are not original - this doesn't help a vintage Mercedes-Benz garner large dollars. It also looks raised? Rather odd for a car of that vintage, IMO. Again, this will not help a vintage purest sale part with above average dollars.......

EBay would be the place to potentially garner more - provided you have expectations on getting over that number, and can provide a lot more pics, AND records/history on the car.......

It's not a "$15K to $20K" car as shown, by any stretch of today's pricing, IMEO.

New transmission and shocks after 60k?
With a preventative service plan like that, it's a surprise that anything is original.

Hard to say. That car is considerably nicer than what I'm used to seeing. The mileage must be thoroughly documented to be of value. Odometer failure is a common thing on these cars. If you want top dollar, you'll need to have a listing with pictures of the interior, exterior, under the car, and the engine compartment. People will be paying a lot of attention to the underside for any sign of rust, and to the driver seat and pedals for signs of mileage. It's probably a good idea to get some pics on each set of wheels and tires to emphasize that it comes with two sets (some potential buyers just skim ads and/or aren't very good at reading comprehension). Also, fix the cruise control. A car where everything works is worth considerably more. Do all that and I wouldn't be surprised to see a five figure selling price.

Or you could just put it on CL and probably get much less.

I like the color of the car it is like mine. It does looking lifted but that could be the angle you took the picture. If you want top dollar put on the OEM wheels. If you were closer to SC I'd look at it. What would you like to sell it for?

What did it cost to do the trannie rebuild and how does it operate after getting rebuilt? I wonder if these trannies are hard and expensive to overhaul. Did you need to find a specialist to rebuild the trannnie or just average trannie shop?

Looks pretty clean but the interior will tell a story too. You'll need a lot of documentation to achieve a high result. Need more pics.

-Document the miles
-But the original rims on
-Take many more pictures; maybe even a video. I am hoping to buy a 300SD soon, and the seller, (tbomachines), has taken pictures like this and a video like this. You should do at least as much.
-If you can't prove the mileage, at least pull compression numbers -- if the mileage is accurate, these should be above 400 PSI (in my opinion).
-Fix the cruise control

What a stunning car, though! If you can do all of the above, and everything is as good as an authentic 60,000 mile should be, I would say that, sold through the right network, this car could fetch $10,000 to $20,000. You might be waiting around for a while for the right buyer, though. Maintenance history is key, because the odometers in these cars are very, very easy to turn back.

Also, when you take pictures, make sure to have the car clean & waxed and the interior empty, vacuumed, and washed. It's stunning how many people put up a dirty car when pulling out the hose, vacuum, and trashcan for an hour to 2 hours would get the car to fetch much more much faster.

Oh. My. Head. That is beautiful. (I started my post before the pictures went up.)

Can you document the mileage? CarFax?

Also, are those pinstripes on the car?

I would say $5-7K as Skid Row Joe said. Possibly more on eBay. I paid $3800 for my 300D, with no rust underneath, rebuilt front end and upgraded engine tidbits..

Even with the low mileage, your'e approaching 30 years old. Rubber ages and will need replaced regardless of miles.

Fix the cruise also. I know a guy
