no neutral switch disengage for cruise

Cruising down the road the other day, decided to slip transmission shifter into neutral. Surprised to learn there's no neutral cut-out for cruise control... just revved the piss and vinegar out of her.

..just telling you if in case you're curious. You know, curious in the same way as wondering if steel toe boots can be run over by a car without hurting your foot. Didn't try that one yet. But when I was maybe 8 yrs old I touched my tongue to a frost fence. Yes it does stick.

Part of growing up, I guess.

The transmission doesn't talk to the cruise control at all in those years (don't know about the 1997+ 5-speed "electronic" transmission). Cruise also works in Park but I don't advise trying the experiment at highway speeds.

Our Corolla (5-speed) has very strict warnings in the manual against putting the shifter in neutral when using the cruise control.

Of course, that makes me want to try...
