Now the prices at my favorite diesel station - brand name is "Crown"

High-Energy Content Diesel - $1.239

Low-Energy Content Petrol - $1.329

My '87 300D gets 29.5 mpg on diesel. What does a 300E get? Does the 300E have to use premium fuel?

It depends on which station

It was $1.49/gal at the Crystal Flash I usually fill. Then later, I saw a Citgo station for $1.30/gal and I filled up there. Also saw a Shell station selling for $1.39/gal.

Thi sis in Western Michigan.

On my way up from Dallas to Michigan last weekend, I bought for:

$1.21 just east of Dallas, TX
$1.21 in West Memphis, AR
$1.17 in Indianapolis, IN

Here in Michigan, the cheapest is $1.31-$1.33

For a thousand miles and six states, fuel can be found for the high teens to the low 20's. Then when I get to Michigan, it's 15 cents higher. What gives?!!!

I paid 1.259 lastnight. Pushed it to 9.50 even and had a 50 cent off coupon. Made me happy.

Fuel prices in SoCal

For the last few weeks we seem to have been holding at $1.63 for unleaded 87 Octane and $1.51 for diesel at my local Texaco here in north San Diego county. This is a much larger gap than normal, and I love it. Big Mac

I got the urge to take a picture of some gas stations recently. This place has sold me several tankfuls of diesel. This station is along Rt 22 in Phillipsburg NJ. In PA diesel is about $1.40, with unleaded 87 $1.30, 91 about $1.38, and 93 octane about $1.45. In other words, diesel is a good 12 cents more than NJ, with gas prices pretty similar. I've seen $1.239 diesel in the same NJ town, but the pic was even fuzzier...

Nebraska wins!

I paid $1.209 today in northern Nebraska, on an Indian Reservation. Gas was the same price.

I do believe they somehow get all or part of the federal tax taken off, then can undercut other stations.

I saw one tonight that was $1.279 for diesel, otherwise at least $1.309 or more.

Gas here in the midwest is pretty much all over $1.40 now.

Actually...Virginia is even cheaper...

Just saw $1.179 and $1.199 a couple truck stops in northern VA. The $1.179 was off exit 126 (easily remembered exit number, at a place called Massaponax just south of Fredericksburg) on I-95. There are also several stations selling Amoco PowerBlend, which is marked 47 cetane. Of course, the truck stop that was $1.179 was something like 0.879 a few years back, if I recall. Definitely under a buck a gallon.

I found that the Hess on RT.31 in Whitehouse Station has the cheapest diesel I see, always about 5 cents cheaper than anywhere.

Its $1.259 here average.

Philadelphia, my last fill up was $1.35/gal at the cheap station two hours drive north, up state. They are always higher in town by about 10 to 15 cents. It is $1.49/gal at Coastal in town. I've noticed that it is usually close to the price of super unleaded around here.

That's funny. Here, it is cheaper in town. I saw 3 stations on 8-mile rd that advertized $1.26. Heading out of town is were it gets expensive. I've seen up to $1.49.

Diesel fuel prices have been rock steady now for some time. I'm still paying $1.239 at my favorite place. Nobody is ever at the diesel pump - so it seems to be my private spot!

Gasolene seems to have come down a bit, to the area of $1.249 - rather amazing.

Now I hear that "crude oil is rising and supplies are dwindling" so I know that's the oil industry's rallying cry to raise prices for the Memorial Day weekend.

Expecting a ten cent increase in gasolene by then.
