87 300TDT Turbo Part Identification

Happy Weekend All! I am rebuilding my turbocharger in my '87 300 TDT. The rebuild kit came with everything I needed except a part in the center of the compression ring. I have attached pictures.

The center part seems to be some sort of brass(?), spring-loaded bushing. My questions are:
* What is it?

* Where can I get a replacement?

Thank You for Your Assistance!

I am about 90% sure that is a Carbon Type Seal.

There is I believe 3 types of Compressor end Seals.

The ones on the 617s have a Piston Ring type Seals on both ends.

I have never done bought anything from this site it is just one of the places I found researching or copied from another Forum Member.

This site has some pics of the different Compressor end seals.

G-Pop Shop :: quick links Rebuild Kits :: Garrett T3, T4, T3/T4 Rebuild Kits

The Dynamic Seal is the Piston Ring type Seal.

My best guess is that you have the encapsulated Carbon Seal.

I have not bought from the Company before.

And be sure to post up pictures of your wagon and the repair once it's done.

We love pictures...
