thinking to get rid of my last diesel benz??

the time has come, i think, itll be hard.

my parents bought me my 77 240d right before i got married in 78. had almost no miles on it then, maybe 5-6000. they told me to take care of it, theyd never get me another car..... you know

anyway now nearing 500k. all my kids learned how to drive on it, its been modified by my kids to make it cool. had all kinds of stereo equipment. u name it. been an awesome car.

my youngest son, (30) just gave the car back to me and said thanks, he didnt want to sell it, but didnt need it anymore. im getting older and dont really care for tinkering with my cars on weekends anymore. i have a bunch and im thinning the herd.

should i sell it? give it to a neighbors son?(if he even wants it)

im getting tired of the oil leaks in the driveway, it runs like a tank, ice cold a/c still the original york. has some big 17" bbs rims on it courtesy of my son,

i live on an island with no diesel stations (i do have an f250 but i tow my boat and other toys with it) the mercedes isnt a truck and i have too many other toys worth keeping to me.

i can probably value the car at 800$. my son painted it in his vo-tech class in highschool. has a nice shine, some runs that i helped him wetsand and buff.

anyone here go through it? my mom is still alive, 97 years old, id like to say "IT lasted me forever!!!" it really did, but in 10 years when the grandkids are driving, i dont know if i let it sit, if it will still be around

was always good, never got a speeding ticket until last night.... officer said i was doing 70mph in a 45! i beg to differ, must have been the new camaro on the side of me. i never got the 240 to 70! definately pleading not guilty!
