Help! Stranded in Delaware!

I have come down to Newark Delaware from new hamp****e for a close friends wedding and after hitting a pot hole on the way down the steering wheel was no longer straight. Everything felt tight so I continued on until I got to the hotel and found that the weld joint on the end of the lower control arm let go! The top is still holding, but the car is not safe to drive. If I was at home I could fix it up with a welder but I do not have any tools here.

Is there anyone who can help in the area?

I'm kind of screwed at this point but have all of sat morning before the wedding and Sunday to fix this if I can.

The car is a 1998 e300, w210 chassis

Most welding shops are open on Saturday. Make sure you dis connect the battery before you weld on the chassis. Wish I could help. Good luck.

Well I got it all fixed up with an expensive trip to harbor freight.

Glad you got it fixed. FYI, you should be able to unload that welder on CL for ~$50 under purchase price pretty easily

That is only a band aid.

Good job for an emergency repair..

You need to replace the lower control arm.

That's the first time I've ever heard "expensive" and "Harbor Freight" used in the same sentence.
