Instrument cluster acting up
I drive a 1981 300td and one by one gauges are failing in the instrument cluster. So far the engine temp., mileage counter, and fuel gauge have stopped working. I was planning on just popping out the instrument cluster and taking a look at the connections back there. I found a nice "how to" video on **************, but it definitely can't hurt posting on here first. I need to replace the vacuum reserve tank. I plugged off the line that goes to the reserve tank because the leak is so bad my engine wasn't turning off. Now the engine turns off perfectly as long as my doors are locked. The weather is finally nice so I'm ready to dive into this project, any help is much appreciated!

probably do one of the ground fixes behind the cluster. poor connections there can cause failures of instrumentation.

Thanks, I will be checking that. My mileage counter started working again for no apparent reason.
