whats she worth?84 190d 5speed for sale.

Too many projects makes hillbilly a tired boy. I got the injectors rebuilt on my 190d. In hopes of curing excessive smoke. Did cure diesel odor but car is still smoking profusely. If you haven't read some of my other posts I purchased the car after it had been sitting for 5 years with the engine partly disassembled. I gathered missing pieces and put it back together. After getting injection pump unstuck I got it running. It did not start smoking until I changed the oil. Now after it warms up it will pretty much put out a smoke screen. I am not prepared to rebuild the engine. I have a 82 300sd I bought hit in the rt doors. I am going to sell the 190d and focus my attention on one project. This is an oklahoma car and has no sign of rust. has power sunroof and about all options. has pioneer supertuner removeable face cassete player and remote cd changer. clearcoat is pealing off of car and paint is fading worse insome places than others. has like new michelins. any way i'm curios what yall think she might be worth and if your interested in it e-mail me.
thanks,
hillbilly

hillbilly:

Do you think your smoke is coming from an oil problem or a fuel related problem? Just curious cuz I'm going through the same process with one of mine and my next step is injectors. I was kind of bummed to hear that it didn't help much.

I would also like to know what you are asking.

I'm actually just more curious than serious. I have a ton of work to still do on my 300TD, and really shouldn't be thinking about another car. 5 speeds seem to be pretty rare, and when the 2.2 engine is running well it gets the same milage as a new TDI! I wish I had an extra couple thousand laying around...

Good luck to you.

I'm thinking somewhere around the $2000.00 range. Does this seem to be close to what it's worth?

I wish I had the 2K to give you. I'd make it a point to come up and get it. I rather like the looks of the newer 190D (not to be confused with the oldies )

IMO, $2K is about $1K overpriced for this 190D that may have severe engine trouble.

Personally I feel the fact that this is a rust-free car makes it somewhat more valuable. You can do an engine repair much easier than you can rid a car of rust (if that is even possible). However $2000.00 probably is over priced and I would entertain offers closer to the $1000.00 range.
Thanks for input,
Hillbilly
