I broke the driver's side mirror control lever

I needed to take the door panel off to fix the driver's door window regulator, and ending up breaking the control lever for the outside mirror. I think originally, it's all one piece with a ball joint on the end. I broke it to where it's only 2" long or so now, probably an inch short of the ball. Just wondering if there's any way to fix this. I'd have to buy something special at Home Depot, like some glue, then surround it with a tight metal ferule or sleeve to reinforce it, since the lever takes tension in all directions when moving the mirror. Once I'm done lubing the ball joint and other moving parts it will move easier.

Any thoughts on any other ways to fix this? ADDED IN AFTER ORIGINAL POST>>>>> Turns out this broke pretty much right AT the ball; no lever at all on it.

the inside handle is a two piece design that attaches to a bent metal rod.

I have driver's-side mirror that is all frozen together such that I can't loosen it. PM me your address, and if you cover shipping, I'll send it your way.
