w115 locks stuck in unlocked position

I recently acquired a w115 240d and am experiencing vacuum issues with the locks. The locks are stuck in the unlock position and the driver side lock will not budge when pushed down or keyed from the outside. I can force the driver's side lock down less than a 1/4", and if I hold it there I can move push the passenger's side lock down almost all the way down to the window ledge. Once I let go of either side they both pop back up to the unlocked position. I understand I can just bleed the vacuum system to keep them in a permanent lock position which is better for security reasons but I'd prefer to just get them functioning properly.

I've searched for this problem but the only posts I find describe a leaky vacuum system, which I'm pretty sure is not the case here and is most likely the opposite. If anyone can offer some advice on where to start or possible culprits the information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Garrett

Thank you for the pdf. I will go ahead and pull the door panel off and examine the door vacuum switch.

Someone has find the problem?

Like him, since yesterday I get this w115 and I can't lock the driver door.

Understand me, remove the door panel to explore, it's the last thing I want for the moment!

Before you go taking stuff apparent try a bit of white grease spray in the mechanisms and key hole. It fixed my non-functioning doors door locks.
