Question oil change sticker on the windshield

Hey Guys & Gals

Does any one know where to get those window stickers that the oil change places put on your windshield as a reminder. Since i do my own changes now since the weather is getting better, I would like to keep an eye on it?

Thanks a lot for answers, suggestions & comments!

Go to New England Business Services at http://www.nebs.com and you can order them there or else just stop into your friendly local MB dealer or European car shop and ask them for some.

you can be real cheap like me and put a small piece of paper with the next change info behind the sticker that may already be there. the window stickers are the cling type and don't wear out.

The previous owner of my TD would cut out a piece of the box that the oil filter came in and right down the "due next" date and miles on it and just use regular scotch tape.
I maintain a maintenance log. I went out and bought a standard blue canvas 3 ring binder and some lined paper. I made columns with headings across the top of each page. Date, Miles, Work Performed, Where (home, dealer etc) and Cost. Since oil changes are the most frequent and most important, I darken in the "O" in Oil change to make it stand out.
I got the idea to do this from E-bay. One day I was looking a Ferraris and one of the owners documented everything and kept it in a 3 ring binder. Each page was in one of those plastic page protectors. It's an excellent way to keep track of work receipts and invoices for parts.
It may seem real anal, but have no doubt, I know exactly every what, when, where and why and how much, with my cars. An added benefit is if in the event I were to sell a car, well document maintenance is worth $$$$. Would anybody here pay good money for an undocument vehicle?

Cool

Some auto parts stores give 'em away. I found a stack of 'em at Kragen free for the taking. They're the stick-on static type like you typically get from cheap-o oil change shops.

I know what you all mean...I try to keep real good records of maintenance done on my vehicles. I found a booklet at McWhorter's for like $5 that lets you write in fuelings (to keep track of mileage and such), oil changes, maintenance, any nots, etc. Real good thing to have.

I use a two inch piece of Scotch "magic tape", I fold over about a quarter of an inch, so you can easly pull it off. I write on it with a pencil. Its small and out of the way in the top left corner of the windshield. I write the milage that I want to change the oil & filters next.

"Change on the threes for memory ease"

Consider changing your oil at even thousand, 3333 and 6666 odometer ending intervals so that it is easy to remember. You may have to reduce intervals to get caught up at first. As I believe MB's most stringent inteval for modern cars under severe duty was 3750 miles, this should be adequate, especially if using synthetic (which I am planning on trying at next change).

Sorry for the cheesy title.

I cut out a piece of masking tape and put it on my gas cap, this way I always see it. By the time the tape starts to peel, I am ready for an oil change anyway!

Don’t need a reminder

I just change it every 5000 miles, whenever I see the Speedo tick past a 5 or a 0 on the forth digit.. I change it

I am suposed to go to 10,000 before the change, but that seems a bit long to me.

You should be changing every 3,000 miles!

I'm starting to feel guilty about not changing every 2,500, but it's bad enough I have to change my oil around every 20 days as it is.
