Automatic down/up feature not working on power window
I (finally) finished fixing my window regulator problem on the driver's door. I got it all to work well, but the problem now is that the window doesn't go all the way down automatically when I press the button the whole way down. The automatic feature only takes the window down about 3/4 of the way, then I have to click the button again.
What would cause that? 1991 300d 179k |
If the window goes down and up manually, correctly with the switch pressing, then the window motor is wired correctly. There are no extra wires in the door. The auto-down feature is between the switch and the convenience module.

What/where is the convenience module?
And any idea how to fix it?

In my '95 it's under the rear seat, left side. I reccomend first checking the door switches in the console, make sure the sockets are firmly attached, wires all connected, and the switches work correctly.
Please confirm that the auto-down feature worked before you repaired the stuff in the door. Jeremy |

Yes, the auto down feature worked before. Just wondering if there are any wires that I messed up, or crimped by accident while taking the regulator in/out. Thanks. |

A different year and model but on My Front Window Regulator there is an Adjustable Stop.
If Yours has a similar Stop You may need to adjust the stop so the Window goes down further. See the red circle in the pic. |
