Its summer--No a/c 98 e300d

When I turn on air I get a few minutes of cold air and then it starts blowing hot air. Is this a dryer problem?

Have you checked the Actual Values using the CCU? Screens 1-7?

Pulled the HVAC error codes from the CCU?

Can be many things. The values and codes ought to lead you in the right direction.

Pulling codes

Pulling the codes is something I will have to brush up on. It's been a long time since I read how to do that

Your symptoms are typical of a faulty evap temperature sensor. Codes will confirm it. Go into the diag display then start the car. Watch #5 it should drop toward a reasonable value, e.g. 40 degrees. If it stays way out of range the system will shut off the compressor after a few minutes.

quick primer on how to pull diagnostics on a W210 climate control

With the car running and the AC on

- hold in the REST button until the display shows 1 on the left and some numbers on the right
- push the left AUTO button until the item you want to check is on the left
- push the right AUTO button to go backwards in the item list
- push the REST button again to exit.

you want to look at item 5 which is evap temperature in degrees F.
7 is refrigerant hi-side pressure in bar (1 bar is 14.7 psi)

Google w210 climate control codes for the rest of the story

Not to take over the thread but I pulled the following codes

B1231
B1234
B1235

I get some ac then heat or turns off all together and always hot on driver side when the passenger is cold no ac in rear or mid console !

any idea where to start ?
