'85 300TD - One aux fan speed or two?

I know the radiator/condenser fan is triggered at least by the switch on the AC drier, but I've read through a lot of posts and some say there's also a coolant temp switch that triggers a higher speed on the fan, but no proof is offered. Any consensus? If so, where's the coolant switch?
