1987 300DT left rear window problems.

Hi all, I am Joe from Arkansas. I am new to the forum so excuse my ignorance.

I have a 1987 300DT and the left rear window came out of the track when I was rolling it down. I have taken panel off without breaking anything yet. YEAH!

Got window back in track and window will roll up but will not go all the way to the top. Stops about two inches from top. Why? Also why did it come out of track in the first place.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you,

Joe S.

Hi and welcome to the forum,,,

The glass is not in the track correctly, or something is blocking the movement. How did the glass come out of the track in the first place? Answer that question and you'll figure out whats wrong now.

Good luck

You could have a loop/kink in the regulator cabling. Also, a frequent problem is that the metal covering over the slide housing into which the cable ends (and the two springs) fit has rotated around on the rivet that holds one side of it.
