Is it possible to just unbolt the pulley on the water pump or is the fan clutch bolt holding it all in? The fan clutch bolt head is stripped major bummer....how far does that bolt go in? 1986 300SDL om603

Went through this repair a while back. The full length of the bolt is 2 1/8 inches including the Allen head. None of the McParts stores by me had the bolt. I went to the dealership and they had a replacement bolt in stock. The replacement bolt is a T55 Torx if i recall correctly.

I guess you removed the radiator to get some clearance.
