Welcome to the fleet 1982 W123 300D

1982 W123 300D

A friend bought this incomplete conversion car from "vstech" for the 4 speed manual transmission + all other needed parts, to be installed into a 1985 300D body.

The flywheel, pilot bearing, clutch, pressure plate, 4 speed manual transmission, and cross member had been installed, and are now removed.

The automatic transmission shifter, wiring, and cooling lines have not been disturbed.

When I install the 4 speed manual transmission, I get his fresh rebuilt automatic for this car.

This is a spare time project.

IMO because it sat too long under trees, it looks much worse than it actually is.

I am discussing the existing paint with my artist daughter.

I would, but he refuses to talk to me till after

If I had the cash for gas, I would clank my way up there....of course my old girl would probably stand out like a Honda on steroids though maybe if I put a donation jar near it, with cardboard sign...maybe people would feel sorry and donate a buck for the greater good

I think I have a box of 123 parts I'd willingly donate to the cause, mostly trim pieces from the '80 Silver Blau 240D stick I had prior to the 116 (I think its still rolling around in Ferndale). I gotta come see you anyway...vacuum/hard brake pedal issues on the 116 & need to set the IP timing. I'll come bearing gifts!
