I found this plug disconnected on my 82 300SD just behind the driver side head light. Any ideas?

Does that pug into the glow plug relay?

Looks like cruise control connector....does cable run to cruise actuator?

+1 looks like cruise control actuator connector to me as well.

82 with OM617 the actuator is right on top of the head, can't miss it. Cable runs over to this connector (male side is the actuator, female side is the body harness).

Unless someone deleted the actuator because the cruise died and they didn't want to fix it.

Well the cruise control does not work. I will look around for the male side. I did not see it real easy.

On the 124s, at least, its on the left side of the engine compartment, very visible.
