Question STAR Service CD on Mac Computer

I just bought the manual for my 251 '07 R350 and can't figure out how to make it run on my mac. I have 123, 124 & 126 manuals that work fine as long as you start them yourself. Are there any tricks to accessing the Adobe files?

I didn't think it was possible to run any of these manuals on non windows operating systems - how do you get your other manuals to work on a mac?

On windows the problems are usually related to running a flash player that isn't compatible - may be in your case using different software will help?

What was your source for the W126 manuals? Does it include the transmission? I have a Mac also but haven't been able to locate a reasonably priced CD set for my 1982 W126.

Thanks!

Stretch - I open the disc and go to program and then when I click on a 'section' like ETM or Chassis it opens in Safari and I can then use it like it runs in IE. I've had problems with it before and then had to get to the pdf files and open them individually.
82300SD - My disc is the MB service manual, I think it was $150 when I bought it 10 years ago. The R class manual was cheaper, $120. I don't think it goes into the transmission rebuild, just maintenance and adjustment.
I downloaded 'wine bottler' which is supposed to run windows programs inside the mac but I'm not skilled enough to figure out which program to use to try and open it. I keep getting an error message saying to insert the disc. I tried it on my work PC and it works fine.

You can open the individual sections of the CD as PDF files on the mac. If you want the fancy interface you can use the free version that mercedes has released online.

Hi Dude, that works with the old ones but the new one I can't get to the pdfs. I'm almost tempted to find an old PC

Use the downloadable Steve Nervig indexes for the older cars' CDs. These work just fine on a Mac with a regular browser. The indexes for each CD are downloadable here: Mercedes-Benz Service Library Index Download Page

Instructions are simple.

Cheers,
Gerry

I think you will need a windows emulator like parallels or bootcamp to get it to work correctly. I cant get in the EPC on my mac either.

I bought a cheap Windows laptop for all the MB software (WIS, EPC). The added advantage is that I don't have to take my Apple to the garage and that only the cheapo laptop gets a bit oily.

I think that's my best option too.

These might be of some use, they run in the browser and I can't think of a reason why they wouldn't work on a Mac.

If you click on a actual file, it shows an error. The file path to the PDF file is different and for some reason it doesn't work on a Mac.

But perhaps it works in Bootcamp of another Windows emulator.

I just tried the 126 manual.

I clicked the link in my thread and then navigated to here
Mercedes-Benz 126 Service Manual Library

clicking the 200 item opened this pdf:
http://www.startekinfo.com/StarTek/outside/12253/disc%202/program/Chassis/33-200.pdf

Does either of those work/not work?

I've got a Mac up at the office, maybe I'll give it a go this week sometime.
