Brakes, sudden failure. 85 300D

Driving to work last night everything fine. Went to pull into parking spot and suddenly brake peddle to the floor! No pre warning, nothing. Was able to quickly pump the peddle and get a little bit of pressure, just enough to get the car to stop.

Checked and the fluid is topped off.

Master cylinder?

X2 if you do not have an external leak or one of the Brake Hoses is turning into a Balloon (not likely).

I had poor luck with a CarDone Rebuilt; the Pedal sunk slightly when I got it that lasted 1.5 Years and then the Pedal went to the Floor.

At the Time a local Parts Place had a good price on a new FENCO (Taiwan) Master Cylinder and that has been about 3 years not with no issues.

yep

Most likely.
It happened to me on the freeway once. It went to the floor when i was pulling off. it did work after a quick pump and worked fine after that. I was not willing to chance it and switched it for a known good master cylinder. Pumping for pressure is a common quick remedy to a brake loss at the master cylinder.

MC change it.

make SURE you are not low on fluid in one of the chambers first though. it'll go to the floor if it ingests air too...

It's full. It's time to park it and take care of a few other issues anyways. Still need to put the LCA bushing in, and was planning on putting new rotors and brakes on anyways. Guess I'll just knock it all out on one swoop.
