Wow... somebody buy this beast!

Local CL - expedition vehicle for you to go to Patagonia and back:
MERCEDES 1017, 4x4, Overland- ExpeditionRV

If it wasn't for the top speed of 56mph I would be considering it....

I've seen something like this in La Jolla, CA one summer - couldn't take my eyes off of it...

Sounds like the guy is German - poor choice of words on the location description ...

Middle east US - great stuff.

If I wasn't so far away I'd be on it. 56mph in an unstoppable force is plenty good enough - YOU WILL GET THERE!

Yeah, but driving across Nebraska at 56mph, while everyone else is zooming past me at 75mph would be very frustrating...

...yeah but the glory is that when they all bunch up in traffic jam you keep on rolling - you'd need a planet the size of Venus to stop that thing from rolling!

Price seems quite high. I wonder if it is legally imported into the USA? I saw one driving down RT 2 in Morrisburg, Ontario a few weeks ago. It wasn't this one but I knew it was some kind of Euro truck because I could hear the engine screaming at about 50mph.

Yeah, it's expensive, and if it maxes out at 56mph, it would be nearly unbearable to listen to it whine at max RPMs and seem to be standing still - but man, what a beast!

Wow I know this one.....it was in our local Safeway parking lot maybe a month ago.....I loved it...wanted to take a photo of it with my car next to it, but I wasn't in my car.....totally fell in love with the beast, knew it would be slow.....but the price, ugh I can buy an actually house with an acre for that price.....or I could take a trip to Europe, buy one and drive it back here for a quarter of the price...

You'd need a pretty long snorkel for that. Obviously the weight of the Atlantic on top of it wouldn't bother it at all...

Think I could get a mortgage on it? It would be so much better than a condo or a townhouse.

15k cash downpayment... then I could just live in Whistler when I want... snowboard all day, then throw a plow on it and plow all night. With the odd trip to food and social establishments... then it's just wake up, repeat!

I met a couple from Germany at Chaco Canyon in March. They had shipped their MB911 over from Europe and were exploring North America at 45mph.

Pure awesomeness now has a CL ad. Let's go camping up in the mountains. What's that you say, the pass is closed and there is 6 feet of snow? No bother, bring your snow shoes and quit your whining.

Neat toy. Seriously impractical. Would be easy enough to convert a 4x4 box truck to an RV that would go anywhere that thing would, go faster on the freeway, get the same or better mpg, and have enough cash left over to buy a house with when you're done.
