When I am not giving Pelican sweet loving, I am loving me some car quest!

So my flex disk popped on me today.

I called my "usual" (no more) local vendor who is clueless, $80 and monday/tues.
I checked Napa, $145 and Monday
I checked that az place and pelican, both had what I wanted (or thought I did) but shipping meant I was going to have to wait.
I checked the local autozoos and they all had dorman crap.

THEN I remembered about car quest, that they are a worldpac dist. We only have a few in town. Looking online they had the "hardened" one.

So I called one of them and he said Monday because the worldpac warehouse that had what I wanted was in Norcross. So I said what about one closer to Norcross? He sent me to the Roswell store (which is probably closer to me anyways). I called them up with the part number he gave me. Lemforder! Well now I am getting excited. What is the lemforder number? "My book doesnt tell me that".

Oh. Starting to get a little disappointed. I said ok get the order then he says. What car? So I run down a 87 190d. He says "OK I have three different ones for this car, all lemforder". Drool. "How about this, I will order all three and you pick which one you want."

FLABBERGASTED.

I <3 CarQuest4Life.

Pretty much everything I need, I can get from CQ. We have a WorldPac distribution center right here in Austin that stocks most maintenance items.

It used to be in the same building as the CQ by my office and they had a window pass through. Now they're in a different side of town and it takes an hour or three to get parts.

Car Quest is first rate....other than having to pay sales tax, it's hard to find a downside.

Good to know they are a worldpac seller. I never remember them when I need a part RIGHT NOW which has not happened in a few years since my daily drivers are both under warranty.

Years ago, they had a really hard time for an air cleaner 1995 E300D. Good to know as they're usually my "go to "place for domestic parts ( even for my 67 Chevy!)

Santa Cruz auto parts is now a Carquest as of a coupe years ago. that's Santa Cruz, Ca.
The guys are really helpful, but not MB guys though. just know what the computer screen shows, but can pretty much get what ever I need.

They have a Machine Shop in the rear, and Dan really knows his stuff.
