E300D 210 Sunroof Switch

My sunroof switch is schizophrenic. The four functions have traded places on the switch. For example, if I want the roof to slide backwards, I now have to push up on the switch, which should the be action to take if you want to just pop the back open. To close the roof, I know pull down on the switch, and I now have to "time it" just right to get the roof to close without popping up in the back. And when I attempt to open the roof all the way, the roof stops after about six inches of movement. I can then release the switch, then do it again, and it'll move another six inches or so. I can do this until the roof opens all the way and then I hear clicking like the motor doesn't know that the roof is open all the way. This indicates to me that the motor thinks it's being told by the switch that it's in that pop up or down mode. So it seems to me that the commands on the switch just seemed to get mixed up. Sound plausible? And if so, what's the fix? New switch? Also, this has happened in the past, but it seemed to correct itself. At that time, I didn't really understand to look for different functions of the switch--I was more panicing to get the roof closed. It did, and then the roof acted normally until a few days ago. Thanks for any input or ideas. /Brian
