1982 300D compression results
Hi, I am a recent owner of an '82 300D turbodiesel. I had my mechanic do a compression test on it and here are the results:
#1 - 300 #2 - 300 #3 - 300 #4 - 350 #5 - 400 It seems weird to me that there would be so much variation. Do these numbers seem bad? The car has about 240k on it. Thanks for any ideas. |

It'd be nice if they were more even but all are good in relationship to reliable starting. I'd adjust the valves and keep on trucking!

Thanks for the reply. I had the valves adjusted after the compression test, would be interested to know if it changed much. But probably not interested enough to pay for another test unless it seems warranted!
Car starts easily and runs great. Last edited by abg300D; 08-27-2013 at 03:58 PM. |

Always adjust the valves before a compression test. It makes a huge difference.
