I called USAA yesterday to add the second 300SD to my policy. I asked what I was paying for insurance before and after adding the new 300SD.

The billing cycle is 6 months. This is what I pay per billing cycle:

2 vehicles: $606.93
3 vehicles: $1087.66

This seems like an absurd amount of money to pay for someone who has never even had a parking ticket. The only accident I had was in 2006 and I'm pretty sure that was before I had this policy. I also have renter's insurance with USAA.

Perhaps I miss calculated, I'll recheck.

I'm old and have been with them for decades.

A lot of time, insurance rates are based a on your age...I know rates don't start going down till you are over 25....another factor to figure in, is some stated base your rates on insurance credits, what ever that is....I was really shocked to learn that, insurance rates in this small town are double what they were on the big city I lived in, in California....it was because here they base my rate on insurance credits, I said hell and kept car registered in cali, until I win some sort of super jack pot...

yeah.. ya gotta call around on that! my friends have a 240d insured with AAA and they pay $32 a month. i have progressive on a 300D and pay just under $30 a month, with slightly better coverage than AAA offers for the same price.

Okay, I did post the wrong amount earlier.

I'm on the extended plan, meaning I get billed every month. Automatically drawn from my checking account.

The monthly total for both cars is $62.76.

Sorry for the previous misinformation.
