w115 300d temp gauge help me please

Just bought this. I've looked around. Can anyOne provide an idea for wiring this? I'm talking specifics. Like fuse number pics of a ground stuff like that?

My gauge don't work and I don't want to drive a car not knowing temp. I've pulled the cluster and wiggled things around back there. Cluster lights don't work either and rheostat has already been bridged. Fuel gauge stuck at e. Haven't pulled the sending unit for that yet.

I pulled the connection on the thermostat housing and put it to ground which I read should peg out the temp gauge, that did nothing.

Replace all your fuses first. Sounds like the fusebox is where your issue is since you have no functionality in the cluster.

Agreed start with all new fuses and clean the contacts.....then move to cleaning the ground points....

Ground points are very big issues with old benz's. I know this for a fact. Your oil gauge should be working for I believe it's a mechanical unit.

x2 Ground on dash cluster is a well known problem area.

Just to seal up an old post. Often we forget to do that.

Fuses....I replaced em all good as gold. A little sanding on the contacts.
