Drivers window won't budge. 1977 300D.

The driver's window (as well as the back passenger side, but that one isn't as important) is stuck closed and can't quite figure out why. I took off the door panel and used a volt reader and it looks like power is getting to the door. I already replaced all of the fuses so I know they're good. The motor doesn't seem to be making any noise or anything, so I feel like it might be the motor, although from reading other threads it seems like the motor is usually not the problem. I'm not sure how long it hasn't been working for, because it's been sitting idle for quite some time. I tried taking the motor out, but can't quite seem to figure out how... Anyone know what the problem might be?

On my SDL the motors recieve power at all times, window switches act as grounding switches. Hold test light on the ring terminals there, and hit switch, one of the terminals should turn the light off when the switch is pressed. If so, the motor is toast. Or possible just bound up/misaligned. Motor is only 3 10mm bolts. Hope that helps

Okay, I just checked, the motor is dead. I still can't seem to get it out though... I found 2 of the bolts, I have no idea where the third is...

How did you decide the motor is dead?

So you confirmed the switches work, not necessarily that the motor is dead. Could be binding like he said.

Okay, well I just found the third bolt, so the motor is now disconnected. Where would this binding be and how would I fix it?

I just took a look at the motor, I think I might've freed it up a little bit, I hooked it back up to the car and the motor was moving. Before I try to hook it back into the regulator I want to see if I can lubricate it at all, what should I use for this? Just grease?

If both the drivers window and drivers rear window are not working....I highly doubt it is the motors.....it is probably the switches.....you can move the switches around, ie switch the passenger switches to the drivers and see if it operates the windows.......there is also a relay behind the gauge cluster for the power windows...

Also the motors on this model, does not receive a constant 12v......one wire receives 12v when the switch is pressed and the other receives ground.....the switch reverses the polarity of the wires.....for up and down...

Well the switch seems to be working fine... After I moved the motor a little by hand and reconnected it, the switch effectively moved it..
