Maxed rpm's 3,100 after shimming injectors
I was shimming my injectors when my pop tester developed a large leak and had to rebuilt. I had very little time so I went ahead and put .20-.25 shims in all the injectors hoping that I would see some improvement in my car. The noise went down a lot but now it has no power after first gear and I can bearly get to 70ish. All injectors where popping around 1000 psi before I shimmed them. Did I over do it or is the injection pump to far gone?

What was the pop pressure after you shimmed it?

His pop tester broke so he doesn't know.....

I'm pretty certain it's supposed to be around 1950 or something

It's 135 bar give or take 5. But what if its higher than that. That's what I'm wondering. Does it limit the rpms like I'm having trouble with? It's acting like there's a big fuel leak that I can't find

However, The Spring is trapped between the top of the Injector Nozzle Pintel and the Spacers. If there is enough Spacers the Pintel cannot come up high enough and if you put in enough of them you can collapse the Spring. |
i fixed the acceleration problem, i had a k and n on filter on while i found a dry filter for my intake, old intake system was to costly. i modified a neon filter to fit and then replaced some of the rubber for the vacuum system because the turbo wasnt spinning right and now i can get up to 70 pretty fast. havent had a chance to see if i can get to high way speeds yet. before the shims i was able to do 106 before my temp would match my speed, so i'm not sure what to think of it now. plan on having the pop tester working sometime next month.

Turned out to be the turbo/crapy k and n, full speed restored. Guess the turbo is really important when the injectors pop at high psi's.
