PS pump

Power steering on my 1983 300sd leaks all over everywhere I park and uses a lot of fluid. I have not driven it in two weeks. Today I changed the glow plugs because it would not start. And I decide to pull off the PS pump and install the new seals that I purchased two months ago.

It came out of the car OK and I scrubbed it to get rid of the piles of dirt and grease. The Pulley nut was hard to get off but I got it. There is a ring clip that holds the pump together. It took a few minutes, but I got it out. And the whole internal pump spilled out on the bench. I changed the seals and put it back together--twice. I put the pulley back on everything looks good.

I install it in the car only dropping the nuts a couple of times. The car starts right up.( glow plugs worked). But the PS does not work at all. I took the cap off with it running and it looked like the fluid was not even moving it was just shaking with the engine.

I am betting that I put one of the pieces in up side down. Or the alignment pin and the parts are not where they are suppose to be.

So my question is, is there a diagram somewhere with a break down picture somewhere?
