Please look at these linkage pics!!

1982 300D turbo.

Just started having some issues with acceleration- have to push the pedal all the way down before I get any.....so I remembered reading somewhere on this forum that the throttle linkage my be out of adjustment. So I popped the hood and had a look, and lo and behold, it appears that it has been unassembled (maybe for a valve adjustment) and re-assembled improperly. It looks to me like the rod needs to be in the hole, not beneath it. What do you think? Thanks, Alex.

yeh. in the hole. an e-clip and washer missing at least, can't remember without looking at mine or epc if there's a plastic washer or not. Check the epc and you'll see the breakdown.

check the firewall, it's possible your bellcrank has disintegrated... but it's more likely the linkage was assembled improperly last service attempt.

There should also be a bit of rubber in there too

There are several linkages out there. You are best off going to a dealer to get the correct part number.

Look at this thread on the same subject.

http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/227731-300td-throttle-rod.html

There is a flat clip the fits into the groove on the end of the shaft.

I did a bunch of searching on Pelican, that AZ site and Googling and can`t seem to find the clip or part #

I agree that the Throttle bushing on the Firewall could have disintergrated.
that`s a pricy $50 item.

I found this clip for the Manual Transmission shift rods, clip looks the same but a bit larger.

It is at the bottom of the page.
