So, I bought a car on Ebay...

The car could maybe, but I'm sensing a sweet Virginia nap.

The car would need to get to about 790 miles. If I hadn't started in New England then no prob. That stop and go nonsense is horrible on mpg.

I've heard it said that the Mercedes seats leave you feeling practically no road fatigue in your body.

Is this true? Or, to ask the question I'm really getting at, are you sore from the drive?

Yes, I am sore. I have been driving for seven hours, I don't think there are any seats in the world that I could sit in for seven hours and not be sore.

I have a 2004 suburban, and I definitely could not have driven this long in that

Wanna post 'em anyway? This could be useful for future reference to certain people who would like to go to Chad's GTG next year...

I drove my 300 non stop for close to a thousand miles, only stopping for fuel....I was stiff but wouldn't say sore....I was quite comfortable...granted I have foam pads instead of horsehair and no broken springs....now my other 300 I had with rotted horsehair and a broken spring....after a three hour drive...I could barely fall out

You should try Texas, or Nebraska - for a long drive through......

When you drove 60K a year in your personal car as my Father did for a living, the MB was a Godsend.

American cars' seating was pretty krappy in the '40s - '70s. MB's seating, has always been terrific!

Age might have something to do with it. Years ago I could drive San Jose to Vancouver nonstop. 400 miles in a 124 is tolerable these days but if it becomes a habit, I'm getting a 140 ASAP

More has to do with your personal conditioning/factors than anything. In my Father's day - physical conditioning wasn't just a real known priority to the masses. My Father was never overweight, and was lean, but was definitely not 'in-shape' as many ppl are today.

Blaming bad seats in a Pontiac Catalina in 1960 for your driving fatigue was easy when the MBs were oh so perfect ergonomically.

Just driving, is awful stressful alone (you're tensed-up for the period of driving hours......) - regardless your age/weight/conditioning, OR what you're driving.
