722.6 Operating Temp
 

As I understand it, the correct way to measure the fluid level on the 722.6 tranny is first to measure the fluid temp at the pan with an infrared thermometer and then check the level. However, as a ballpark quick 'n' dirty approach, is it fine to go on a 30 minute highway run, assume the temp is roughly 80C, and then measure the level?

That's what I do. It is my "guess/understanding" that the fluid temp will max out at 80. To verify the level I have checked it after long drive of several hours and the level was right where it should be.
