I will add a step.....screw the primer down tight.....stretch condom over it as was said.....crack/loosen the lines that run to the top of the injectors.....keep turning the engine over till fuel wets the injectors.....tighten the lines back up and the car should start and run fine...

If you dont crack the injector nozzles, the fuel will immediately just head for the return line.

are injector nozzles on the block...or on the rail before the block...sorry dont have a book on this car yet.

My white pump was a bit leaky for years, but it will still work. I recall the manual tells you to crack one of the banjo fittings at the outlet (arrow going away) of the big metal fuel filter and pump until diesel comes out.
I bought a new, smaller black pump for ~$9. There are posts here on how to replace it. Easiest is to smash the white plastic so you can get at the hex nut from above w/ a socket. The black pump is much easier to install and remove. I don't recall if I needed a short open-ended wrench or a crows-foot socket. |
got my crows foot...for the new one...wich is 17mm
old one is 19mm. :) |
