'99 turbo shifting funny
Hi All - My '99 E330 Turbo is shifting funny - like not down shifting to 1st when coming to a light and then not upshifting to 2nd when I finally get it back to first - then all is fine for a while.
I believe that it has one of the 'sealed for life transmissions' that I have had the fuilds changed on regularly every 60,000 miles. The car has about 218,000on it. Does this sound like the end of the transmission?

Sounds like limp mode (second gear). Any transmission codes? Could be a bad conductor board which isn't a difficult or terribly expensive repair.

Seems like in the winter, my car doesn't shift into 1st when you come to a stop. It sticks in 2nd until I accelerate a little and I feel a little clunk when it drops back a gear and then it shifts normally until I stop again.
Again, I only notice this in the winter and it's minor. I have heard that the conductors on the shifter can cause weird problems too.
