transmission proplem

hello i have a w124 250D its a 5 cylender 2,5 disel 1992 i just instaled a transmision in my car used i changed the filter and fluid. it droe very well for about 20 miles and when i stoped and switch off the engine for about 15 minouts and when i started it again the transmission didint have anny gears not reverse or forward. putting the car in D its like putting it in nutral. it holds park so the axle is fine and the fluid is like new its not burnt or it is not to low. does some know what the proplem maybe. sory for the bad english

Are you sure the shift rod didn't pop out somehow? When you put it in Drive, will the car roll, or does it just act like it's staying in park?

It doesn't seem likely that the trans just failed after driving for 20 minutes without any problems.

the shift rod is in place and if i put it in reverse or D it just rools like in neutral the only proplem on the drive was the kickdown was not oparating and it did shift upp to early
