87 300D replaced IP lines. First run. No boost :(

OK, replaced the IP lines. This is the first run since doing that. It sounds MUCH better.

I hooked my boost gauge to the nipple coming off the intake, zero reading. It's like the turbo is not doing anything at all. Checked the turbo and it spins free. no play. I must be missing something..

Is the signal line clear from the manifold to the ALDA? Poke through the manifold nipple or remove it for cleaning. It takes a very light torque to install.

Car has no ALDA. It was removed a couple years ago. I have 2 other ALDA's sitting here, but both seems to be leaking as neither will hold pressure or vacuum. (slight bleed down either way.)

Been searching. Can you actually buy a new ALDA or is there a rebuild kit? Can't seem to find any info on it.

Also, I see in some threads that you will show no boost unless your driving the car, even if you rev it... maybe that's the issue. I didn't actually try and drive the car.

No rebuilt kits for the ALDA. Pull some the junk yards.

You will have to drive the vehicle to get the boost gauge to show anything.
Idling or reving the engine at a standstill won`t show you much.

If you have enough boost line place the gauge on the Windshield and Duct tape it. then take it for a drive.

Yes, the engine has to be under load to produce enough exhaust to spin the turbo.

Where did you get the exhaust expansion joint and how much was it? Accelerate up a hill or something past 2000rpm to see if its making boost.

Took it out today. Runs a little better, but still underpowered. The most boost I saw was 4 pounds, at 4k rpms.
