One picture shows what looks like a roots supercharger on the starboard side, the illustration shows what looks like a turbo on the port side. This should be interesting. More interesting is how Nissan doesn't already have a suitable Diesel engine that just needs to meet US emissions specs.

Both your articles are from 2011. In Sept 2013 Nissan anounced that the next Titan will be getting a 5.0 V8 cummins diesel engine, not a 2.8L 4 banger.

The 5.0 V8 engine was originally intended for the the Dodge Ram.

The 2.8L 4 banger Cummins ISF from the original 2011 articles is manufactured in China and does not meet US emissions.

It's going to take a lot more than a Cummins engine to make that truck competitive with the Big Three.
