190d 2.5- Is EGR relay needed?
I took it out because my EGR is disabled (blocked off vacuum) and my #10 fuse kept on blowing, leading me to no tach, cruise control, power mirror, etc. It seems as if removing that relay has stopped the fuse from going but is it vital to any other function of the vehicle besides the EGR?

If the IP has an ELR actuator, it's needed for idle speed control. Also cruise and AC.

I believe that 2.5 also used the EDS computer to control boost, so yes, it is needed.

The '87 190D 2.5 turbo came with a proper pressure actuator.

I should clarify, my car is the NA, not the turbo unfortunately.

can the tach, a/c, and cruise not all get by with the diesel module & Klima alone?
I'm sure the EGR relay is getting hard to come by, and it could be causing his fuse blowing issues. Also try swapping to a good known OVP. |
