W123 cup holders that I reinstalled from former owner. (Pictures)

The former owner had cup holders in the car in the past and had made the holes before me. However I reinstalled new ones. Yes there are holes in the door panel now, however I have drink holders thank God on both sides.
They come from a Marine supply store and are used in boats.
I went to the hardware and got larger screws than what came with the holders.

Haha, we should start a drink holder club. Ironically, I detest drinking inside my vehicle, but living in the desert, keeping a cold drink is necessary when you don't have working air conditioning and temperatures reach 120 degrees in the summer.

Great. Until the first time you slam the door and your drink keeps going...

Yea I did a little testing on this very subject.
I will have to be careful, but the holders do very good holding a full cup.
Only time will tell I guess?

Since you have minimized the distance between these holders and the door hinges (pivot point) you have minimized the inertia a full cup would have when the door is closed. That doesn't mean the inertia is zero, just minimized.

Squiggle, I'm going to make that in cherry. Hopefully I have a piece that I can use off my own land. Nice design.

Squiggle will a drink stay in the one you have in the center console, if you do an abrupt change in direction or a quick stop? I looked at some others like that one that was made an wondered about it. It doesn't look really very deep for a coffee to stay in.

Sorry to say that is exactly what happened a few more times than once when I installed them in my w116.

this is terrible, how dare you puncture or admit to having bought a car with punctured door skins! for shame

actually Im visiting west marine this weekend to get a few for my and the wifes 123s, probably for the center console area though. I want to do crank windows on mine, which would interfere with this.

thanks for posting the part number!

All I can say is that if all he ends up with is a "1/0 0" for that, he'll be lucky.

I had a 95 E320 that had a set of the similar cup holders, dealer installed. After a while, they would pop open after shutting the door. Annoyed me to no end.

Then when you remove them, your left with four unsightly holes in the door panels.

This one is deep (roughly 3"/7.5cm), and the wood goes down all the way to the bottom. There is no way a drink would spill in this thing. I wish the wood was a better match, but I couldn't pass it up for the price.
