W123 Service Manual Library

I have the cd's that came with the car purchase, but for a compability reason of somekind, they don't work on my pc. I searched on the forum, and found a link to the W123 Service Manual Library. The question I have is places in the library, it is blank on the information for that particular maintenance procedure. It gives a reason when this is encountered, which slips my mind at the moment. A procedure for removal of the cylinder lock is not even listed at all. My question is was there later versions of the W123 Library, that patched up the missing data? The cd's and the library downloads for the 190's & the 300's in the past, as I recall, seemed much more comprehensive.

Hmm

I am not sure if you have the W123 classic CD or WIS / EPC.

The WIS / EPC had many versions, and most are a major pain to install.

There is only one W123 classic CD, and it works best on a PC using Internet Explorer.

Most of the CDs in circulation are basement-burner knockoffs that were sold for some time on eBay (perhaps they still are).

Many of those don't work properly on any computer, as far as I can tell (I purchased a set that work, sort of, on both my Mac and my work PC).

The disc's that I got with the purchase has the picture of the Mercedes Benz car on the front of the disc. They have Mercedes Benz W123 01 Service Manual on one & 02 on the other disc. When you try to run them, it wants you to install Acrobat Reader 03 and a shockwave player etc. Adobe is up to 11 or so now. Even after installing the 03 version it comes back with an error message of sorts with ie and locks you out. The failed maintenace information was on a url for a service library for the w123 that was posted on the forum. I kind of lean towards the discs I have as the genuine startek ones and not ebay.

The startek manual you show for W123 is exactly the one I have referenced from a url. On of the maintenance features for example 0560 is not there...like for checking valve clearances.

No I don't get that message. What happens is when I click on the maintenance dot. It opens the screen to the two choices. Maintenance System Sheet & Maintenance Manual Index. From here if I click on the Maintenance System Sheet it will display the sheet no problem. However, if I click on the Maintenace Manual Index, and when it open, no matter which one I choose, it will give me a screen like...the left side with a mercedes symbol with a dividing line. On the right side of this screen it has Document not found!
We apologize for the inconvenience
Please report to us through Star Tekinfo's Contact us screen.
It fail on the W126 as well. It won't find anything in Maintenance Procedures. TIA

I frequently get "Document not found" when trying to access the startek info versions of the FSM. It happens so frequently, regardless of what computer I am on, or what browser is use, that I have given up.

I am surprised to hear that Whunter doesn't have the same experience.

Go through the CD, find the PDF folders.
You will need to sort through all of them..

I never thought to try Safari..

Now that I have, it actually is faster, and displays better than my other browsers..

Again, Thanks.
