1982 300d Locks

ok so
Tilly is coming along fine.
got her new rims hubcaps and tires this week.

now i am onto the locks
all new actuators
vacuum holding great every where
still no power locks.
does it take a whole for the vacuum to build up?
the drivers side door lock can be clocked and unlocked manually
the passengers side doors seem to have resistance
is this normal.
nothing happens at all when i push down drivers door lock
some time i get a loud his like air air brake
also
is there any sort of adjustment to be made on the actuators..
any help would be awesome
and yes i have a mity vac and have checked all lines

do you have all the lines connected to the correct ports on the actuators?

If you're getting a loud hiss when locking or unlocking the door, it's worth checking the master switch in the driver's door.

Chances are, you have a crack on the main vacuum line going into the drivers door, in the according tube....take the drivers door panel off and tug on the line....if it comes out...you found the issue....another issue, your main vacuum line may have been pulled out of the check valve under the dash...

I am not sure on Your Car but on the 84 300D the trunk Lock Button is on the Back of the Car; it is the one that you stick the Key into.
There is no other Trunk Lock button except that one.

If your Key does not work to manually open the Trunk they you may be in the same situation as Me. When the Car was new it came with a Master Key that opens everything and it came with a Valet Key.

I have only the Valet Key and that key will not turn the Trunk Lock.
In My case the Trunk Lock was left turned in a position where as long as I have vacuum when I unlock the Drivers Door it unlocks all of the Locks including the Trunk.

You can tell that My Trunk Lock was left in that piston because if you Push on the Button the Button goes in all the way but it does not open the Trunk. when I unlock the Driver Side Door the vacuum moves a plastic piece inside and when I push on the Button it will open the trunk.
If you push on your Trunk Button and it will not push in you will not be able to open that trunk without the Master key.

If the Trunk Lock is the original one that came with the Car and you live in the USA you can go to the Local Mercedes dealer with your Registration Papers and the Car and you can have them cut you another Master Key and when you have that.
It takes several weeks to get the Key from the Dealer.
