Public Surplus: Auction #1056499 Public Surplus: Auction #1056497 Currently each has been bid up to $175.00-ish. Parts have been pulled, and I don't know if these are diesels or not...

Can not be operated in Kali Land
It can not be licensed or operated in Calif. will not pass CARB. Unless the expensive emission crap is installed.
Kali is successfully eliminating all older vehicles off their roads. NOTE: In order to be in compliance with California Air Resources Board regulations, this vehicle cannot be sold for use in California, or be re-used by the Buyer in California, or be resold to another party, who intends to use the vehicle within the State of California. Buyer will be required to sign a form, as well as State of California Air Resources Board Out-of-State Sales Verification form certifying the vehicle or equipment will be registered and exclusively used or operated outside the State of California, and the vehicle or equipment must be removed from the State of California no later than May 31, 2014. The engine must remain in out-of-state use, and the purchasing party agrees to provide a sales receipt and/or Bill of Sale documenting the purchase of the vehicle. The State of California will issue a vehicle identification number (VIN) Stop Order so that the vehicle can no longer be registered in the State of California. The Buyer agrees to defend and indemnify the City of Redding from any claim or any liability arising from use of the vehicle by the Buyer or any third party Buyer within the State of California. looks like there are others there that might not be on the auction block? bummer is you probably need to get everything they have in that yard to put together one running bus, with the disclosure on the site they look to be diesel and from what i have read they will haul a heck of a load but they will take a week to get out of their own way.

It would be worth the drive out to see and inspect whats been taken from the vehicles ,I would be willing to bet if you had a reasonably good Cali 300d turbo motor and trans installed it would be passable.If it orig had a 240 4 cylinder diesel,the 300d transplant could make the bus even pass something.
