Smile Leaking IP lines 1982 300d

Just picked up a neglected 1982 300d. Brought her back to life but the IP lines are leaking. The lines are tight. Could they have been over tightened wrecking the sealing surfaces? Is this a common problem? Will I need to replace parts? Also the Alda screw has been played with, any way to set back to factory? And the trans flares but there is a vac leak I still have to chase and engine mounts need replacing. Any advice on the lines leaking I want to start there first

Cheers

where is it leaking from? Could it just be the return lines?

I have heard of the 61x injector nuts leaking, but it's rare. take all loose, and see if any are cracked, then reassemble gently, they just take a little torque to seal.

MUCH more likely is the cloth return lines leaking...

There may be a piece of carbon in the threads...loosen them and clean all the threads with brake cleaner and then re install them.

If the leak is near the pump, replace the delivery valve seals. These have been adversely affected by low sulfur diesel. The new ones are made of better stuff.

Thanks. I removed the lines and cleaned the ends, also used tie wraps where the old line clamps used to be. There still seems to be slight leakage at the top of the lines. Seals will be next this week.

Will an Alda that's been tampered with cause weird power output? This car is very peppy but has a bad flat spot around 3100rpm. The top of the Alda screw cap is ripped open. The sides are still surrounding the lock nut. Does it slip on and off? Wondering how to access the lock nut

Without the Clamps on the Fuel Injection Hard Lines they can Crack. In fact ounce in a while even with the Fuel Injection Line Clamps one will Crack.

Do you know if you have an MW type or M type fuel Injection Pump?

I don't know. It is the original for the car an 82 turbo.
I've got all the leaks solved but not the nose dive at 3000-3100
As far as I've read the Alda should not cause this.

Thanks for the advice on the IP seals.
I'm going to start a new thread on the power dive.
Cheers
