W126 drivers; got a question for you

My daily driver is a 91 350sd, 3.5 engine. Yeah I know, people call em rod benders. Well over 400k on the OM603.
Ok, the question. I've developed a shudder when accelerating from a stop. It will happen just before it shifts into each gear if I stay on the throttle. At first I thought it was the rear diff; but when I had it jacked up I noticed the mount for the diff had some gap in it.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
