Seattle area: Science class made bio-diesel
Guys,
Favor needed. A friend of mine posted this: My daughter and some of her classmates are working on a project for her Organic Chemistry class where they have created bio-diesel. If anyone has a car that can take bio-diesel (doesn’t have to take pure bio-diesel) that they can put in the fuel they made for their test, please let me know. Anyone one in the Seattle area "game" to work with these kids? Thx, PK |

Why not?
I think I heard about this...I work near Seattle (Bothell, actually) so I'd be game. Is this the one where they're turning used markers into bio-fuel?

Looks as if one of the teachers volunteered his car. I'll post the results here when I know more....

Entry from Peyton: Things went out well! We used our teacher's car and he started out with 20 gallons of most likely store bought fuel. And then we mixed a few groups together to go faster and put about a gallon into his car. Everything turned out really well!

Me: So you blended your bio-diesel with the dino-diesel?
Peyton: So our diesel probably ended up having very little impact on the engine. The main point of the project was learning how to make the biodiesel |
