Vacuum Pump leak (not at gasket)? W201 1989 190D
I replaced the gasket on my vacuum pump two years ago, but now have an oil leak at the front lip of the vacuum pump.
I take it that means it is time for pump replacement? I've seen a bunch of discussion on updated pump (not a flat front surface, with torx screws), is this the one: 0002303165 Pierburg? Bruce 190d 76k miles |

The thing that kept me wondering about this is that the leak is working its way up the front of the pump. Oil flows downhill usually (!), but figured this might be a combination of air flow from the fan and capillary?

Is it leaking out the bottom of the gasket and up or out of the pumps crimped cover itself?
Yes you should probably replace it with the part you cited for peace of mind. Expensive buggers aren't they? There was one on mazon for $250. |

It is leaking out of the crimped cover - gasket is clean.
Will take a look for mazon pump. |
